Creativity

My friend Alex (13) and his parents came to see us last Saturday, and when I showed him my book (O Risco e o Fio), his reaction was: “Have you got a sheet of paper? I want to make something for you”. And he made me a beautiful origami lily. Today, looking at it, I felt like colouring it and playing with watercolours. If anyone else wants to join the chain, let us know!

I’ve just had my first book published! It’s called “O Risco e o Fio” .

The book will soon be in bookshops in Brazil and is already available through the publisher’s website.

As you can imagine, I’m very happy and excited about the possibility of it reaching many hands and hearts!

As requested by my friend Matilda, I’m posting some more of Ken’s cards. The last one inspired me for an illustration I created for my book. Thanks again, Ken!

I’ve just bumped into this photo laying around, and put it on my notice board. It ended up above the “Transparency” painting I posted below, and I liked the relationship between them. The proportion is completely different here, but I still like the way they communicate with each other.

I was in Brazil on holidays and went to a Literature Festival in Parati, a very pretty historical/colonial city on the coast, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. I can’t tell a lot about the festival, as I was more interested in going to the beach. But had fun making a print using a polystyrene surface, as part of the activities for children.

Unfortunately I didn’t take a proper camera on this trip, so had to use my mobile, and this is why the quality of the pictures is not very good.

Then, back to the city of Rio de Janeiro, I went to the Sugar Loaf and, although I’ve taken pictures from there before, couldn’t resist using my mobile again!
